New 2025 Dragstrip Policies

For 2025, there are a few new policies for racers and spectators. Please review these and take note.

  • Everyone: 18+ & drivers license for any motorized vehicle on property

  • Everyone: Only drivers, crew members, and track officials are allowed in the burnout box. May not be beside or in front of the car during burn-out or launch.

  • Racers: => 5.99 ET extended wheel studs/open lugnuts

  • Racer: => 5.99 ET diaper or bellypan

  • Racer: functional neutral safety switch

18+ Motorized Vehicles

New insurance regulations for most dragstrips in the US now prohibit anyone under 18 or without a valid, state-issued driver's license to operate a motorized vehicle around the premises. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Golf Cart

  • SxS / ATV / UTV

  • Pit Bikes

  • Electric Scooters

Visitors under 18 can still enter the property to park or participate with a sanctioned body license.

We understand this is not desirable. However, our insurance company mandates this, and we request that you help us avoid any awkward enforcement actions.

Burnout Box Persons

Only drivers, crew members, and track officials are allowed in the burnout box. All spectators must remain outside of the burnout box and hot track areas. This is an insurance requirement.

During burnout or launch, no one, even crew, may be beside or in front of the car. Crew may be inside the protected horseshoe guardrail or outside the perimeter guardrail but not past the starting line. In other words, you may not be there if you are between the vehicle and a guardrail or in front of the vehicle while it is in motion or burning out.

Wheel Studs

If a vehicle runs an ET of 5.99 or quicker then it will be required to have extended wheel studs/open lugnuts. Almost all factory vehicles will not be able to obtain this speed.

If OEM style wheel nuts are used, wheel studs must project through lug nut. If aftermarket wheel and recessed shoulder nut are used, stud threads must project through wheel. No hubcaps or wheel covers may be used.

This will be checked in tech; if the vehicle isn't equipped, you will not be allowed to run. If the vehicle makes a pass without the required safety equipment, then you will be asked to leave.

Diaper or Bellypan

Engine Diaper Example

If a vehicle runs an ET of 5.99 or quicker, it will be required to have an engine containment system such as a diaper or belly pan. This helps prevent both minor and extensive fluids from entering the racing surface, limiting cleaning expenses and delays for the track, participants, and spectators.  Almost all factory vehicles will not be able to obtain this speed.

For belly pans it is recommended to follow WDRA rules: "extends to each frame rail, beyond the engine and all related components, contains an oil absorbing mat and is a minimum of 2 inches tall at its perimeter."

This will be checked in tech; if the vehicle isn't equipped, you will not be allowed to run. If the vehicle makes a pass without the required safety equipment, you will be asked to leave.

Neutral Safety Switch

A functional neutral safety switch is required. It must function to prevent the engine from starting while the transmission is in any drive gear.  Almost all factory vehicles will have this already in place.

This will be checked in tech; if the vehicle isn't equipped, you will not be allowed to run. If the vehicle makes a pass without the required safety equipment, you will be asked to leave.
